BYU-Idaho Scroll
Background
During the Fall 2025 semester, I took the Scroll practicum. As a student, I looked for newsworthy stories and created social media videos for them. As a result, I received over 70k views on Instagram and over 3k views on YouTube. During my teram at BYU-Idaho Scroll, I was able to help them grow their follower count to 11.5k from 9k through content, performance analytics, and strategic decisions.

Goals
I wanted to create engaging posts that share a newsworthy story.
Project Journey
My first video was the pickleball courts and ended up performing well, so I was worried how I could perform better than that video. However, as I continued creating videos and filming B-roll clips I learned more on video creation on social media.
Growth and Outcomes
Once the semester concluded, I was offered a position at Scroll to work on their social media strategy. The videos I created as a practicum student impressed the staff. I grew in my content creation as a practicum student. While I worked as a staff, I also got to mentor students on how they can find stories, film videos, and edit them.
